The Cartier Pasha is one of the most distinctive creations of Maison Cartier – a watch whose origin is based on a legend: The Pasha of Marrakech is said to have commissioned Cartier in the 1930s to design a watch he could wear while swimming. The result was a round timepiece with a screwed crown, protected by a chain guard and topped with a blue sapphire cabochon – design elements that remain the hallmark of the Pasha line to this day. The reference 1050 offered here is the stainless steel chronograph of the series, combining this iconic design language with the functionality of a stopwatch. The silver-white guilloché dial with its finely engraved herringbone pattern gives the dial a lively depth and texture that changes with every light reflection. Three subdials – 30-minute counter at 9, 12-hour counter at 3, and running seconds with date window at 6 o’clock – also feature a radial soleil finish. All hands are made of blued steel, with the hour and minute hands filled with luminous material in the characteristic sword shape.

The blue sapphire cabochons on the crown and chronograph pushers are unmistakable Cartier trademarks, as is the rotating bezel with printed Arabic numerals and the triangle marker at 12 o’clock. This example is in good condition: The stainless steel case shows normal signs of wear and fine scratches, especially visible on the polished side surfaces. The crystal has a visible scratch in the area between 3 and 4 o’clock. The guilloché dial itself is in excellent condition – clean, without discoloration, with razor-sharp printing. The dark blue crocodile leather strap with Cartier pin buckle completes the harmonious overall impression.
