The Cartier Santos Galbée with moonphase is one of the most sought-after complication variants within the Santos family – and at the same time one of the rarest. While the standard Santos with date is already a design icon, this version takes it to a new level: a pointer date with numbers 1 to 31 on the outer ring of the dial, driven by a central blue steel hand, combined with an atmospheric moonphase display between 5 and 7 o’clock. The golden crescent moon against a blue night sky gives the already elegant Santos dial a poetic, almost romantic dimension. The bicolor design of satin-finished stainless steel and 18-carat yellow gold – visible on the distinctive bezel with its eight screws and the golden screws of the integrated bracelet – epitomizes Cartier’s aesthetic of the late 1980s and 1990s.
