Few Watches embody the essence of Cartier as directly as the Tank Française. Inspired by the legendary Tank, which Louis Cartier designed in 1917 based on the Renault tanks of the First World War, the Française line introduced a decisive innovation from 1996: a seamlessly integrated metal bracelet that flows smoothly into the case, giving the Watch a sculptural, architectural appearance. The reference 2301 is the coveted midsize version in stainless steel – a size that looks excellent on both slender men's and sturdier women's wrists. The silver-white dial with printed black Roman numerals, the characteristic blue sword-shaped hands made of blued steel, and the octagonal crown with a blue spinel cabochon form the unmistakable Cartier signature.

This example shows an honest, worn condition that tells its story: the case and bracelet bear the typical signs of wear of a timepiece regularly worn on the wrist – fine scratches on the surfaces and slight signs of use on the satin-finished bracelet links. The dial, on the other hand, is in excellent condition: the Roman numerals are razor-sharp, the blue hands show their original color, and the surface is free of discoloration. A witness of time that has been worn and looks exactly as it should – not as a showcase piece, but as a daily companion with character.
