The Hamilton Khaki King Scuba is one of those models that enjoys an excellent reputation among connoisseurs without ever having experienced mainstream hype. Launched in the mid-2000s and no longer part of the regular collection, it combines diver watch DNA with a surprisingly information-rich dial that offers more than meets the eye. The silver sunburst dial features applied Arabic numerals and baton indices, an inner 24-hour ring for military time reading, a scrolling day window at 12 o’clock, and a date display at 6 o’clock. The blue aluminum rotating bezel with a 60-minute scale gives the piece its sporty maritime character, while the interplay of blue and silver provides a refreshingly bright alternative to the usual black diver watches.

Inside, a proven ETA 2836-2 automatic movement with 25 jewels operates, visible through the screwed sapphire crystal case back. The screwed crown and water resistance of 100 meters (330 ft) emphasize the functional orientation, while the sapphire crystal ensures everyday usability and scratch resistance. With a diameter of 41 mm and a height of about 14 mm, the King Scuba is a watch with wrist presence that never feels overloaded thanks to the well-proportioned lugs.

This example is in well-maintained, used condition. The dial is clean and free of damage, the bezel shows minimal signs of wear, and the case bears light scratches on the sides and lugs typical of regular use. The Hamilton-signed folding clasp shows typical desk scratches but functions perfectly. An honest tool with character – exactly what Hamilton stands for.
