Heuer LCD Chronograph 101.703
Heuer LCD Chronograph 101.703
In the 1970s, Heuer, already the benchmark for motorsport chronographs at the time, ventured into electronics. With the Chronosplit and subsequent LCD models, the brand brought its expertise in stopwatches into the digital world. This Heuer LCD, reference 101.703, dates from that era. The functions are clearly labeled on the dial: “Date – Start/Stop,” “Mode,” “Split/RST,” and “Set.” The chronograph with split-time function shows that this is not a fashionable gadget, but a genuine timekeeping instrument. And the Heuer crest still bears no “TAG” lettering.
The cushion-shaped brushed stainless steel case is substantial yet softly contoured. The lugs flow directly into the integrated link bracelet in a distinctive stepped shape. The gray dial frames the LCD display. Two pushers on the right and a recessed setting button operate the functions. The folding clasp bears the embossed Heuer logo. With its clear, technical design language, the Watches is a design icon of the early digital age.
It is in honest vintage condition. The LCD display is working and clearly shows the time. The case has numerous scratches and signs of wear, especially on the top. The bracelet and clasp also show signs of wear. A small blue dot is visible on the dial to the left of the Heuer logo. The case back is scratched and has light residue around its edges. A witness to time that makes no attempt to hide its life on the wrist.
