Jaeger-LeCoultre Classic Ultra-Thin 9220-21
Jaeger-LeCoultre Classic Ultra-Thin 9220-21
Hardly any understatement: a pure two-hand layout, Roman numerals, and an ultra-thin manufacture caliber – packed in a 34 mm yellow gold case. This Jaeger-LeCoultre Ref. 9220-21 (Cal. 895) is the essence of a dress watch: an 18-carat disc case with finely polished bezel, a white, enamel-like dial with fine craquelé pattern (typical for its age), and slender black feuille hands. No date, no frills – just time.
Inside works the in-house caliber 895: hand-wound, 28,800 A/h, 25 jewels, and a height of just over 5 mm. According to the enclosed service receipt, the movement was serviced by Jaeger-LeCoultre in 1985 and has been worn very little since.
The condition is honest: fine signs of wear on the bezel and case back as well as even hairline cracks in the dial’s lacquer layer – purely cosmetic, no impairment.
Summary: If you’re looking for an uncompromisingly flat gold dress watch that isn’t Patek but still offers genuine manufacture technology, then this watch is just right for you.
