Omega Chronostop Genève 145.009
Omega Chronostop 145.009
A real splash of colour for any collection: the Omega Chronostop Reference 145.009 is the perfect example of the bold and functional design of the late 1960s. Originally launched as a dynamic watch for a young, sports-loving target group, the Chronostop with its distinctive single-push mechanism has long since become a sought-after cult object. What makes this model special is its bright blue dial with its fine, matt texture, which is rarer to find than the classic grey versions. It forms a perfect contrast to the bright orange stopwatch hand – a design that immediately brings to mind the racetracks and zeitgeist of that era.
The stainless steel case impresses with its ergonomic C-shape and is extremely comfortable to wear on the wrist thanks to its compact dimensions of approx. 35 mm. The technical feature lies in its operation: the push-button at 2 o'clock starts the second hand; if you hold it down, you can read the time, and when you release it, the hand immediately jumps back to zero. Inside, the robust Omega hand-wound calibre 865, based on the architecture of the legendary Speedmaster movement, is highly regarded for its precision. This Chronostop is worn on a high-quality blue leather strap with an ostrich leather look, which perfectly rounds off the sporty, elegant look. The watch is in very nice, honest vintage condition with an excellently preserved dial and authentic signs of wear on the case.
