Philippe Charriol 15.90.996 Triple Date Moonphase

Philippe Charriol left his position as Asia President of Cartier in 1983 after fifteen years to found his own brand in Geneva. Inspired by a Celtic torque bracelet, he developed the braided stainless steel cable that became the iconic trademark. In the late 1980s and early 1990s – the era when this model was created – Charriol was at the peak of its expansion, and the combination of industrial steel cable and intricate dials was a bold design statement that deliberately blurred the line between jewelry and watchmaking.

The round bi-color case made of stainless steel with gold plating features the characteristic Charriol design language: a wide, stepped gold bezel flanked by the typical steel cable that twists like a frame around the sides. The white dial with finely crafted guilloché wave pattern displays a full triple-date layout with a weekday subdial at 9 o’clock, a month subdial at 3 o’clock, and a moonphase with small seconds at 6 o’clock. The central date is indicated by a pointer hand with a red half-moon tip over the peripheral date scale. Blued hands, gold-plated ball indices, and the Roman numeral XII at 12 o’clock complete the look, while the deep blue starry sky above the moon disc adds a playful romantic touch to the dress watch character.

The bracelet is the true unique feature: the Charriol Signature steel cable bracelet with golden monogrammed end pieces and a folding clasp embossed with the "C" emblem. The case back is engraved with "PHILIPPE CHARRIOL," "SWISS QUARTZ," and "WATER RESISTANT," and bears the signed gold caseback medallion.

A distinctive piece from the brand’s heyday – ideal for collectors seeking a unique statement on the wrist beyond the usual suspects.
