Seiko Credor blue agate dial
Seiko Credor Blue Agate Dial
Credor is Seiko’s luxury line. The name is derived from the French “Crête d'Or” (golden peak) and remains primarily known among connoisseurs in Japan to this day. This 1980s Credor 2F70-5380 shows how consistently Seiko combined watchmaking with jewelry craftsmanship at the time. The centerpiece is the dial: an insert made of blue agate with fine white banding rests on a deep black base. Slim, gold-colored baton hour markers, the applied Credor crest, and slender Dauphine hands keep the overall appearance restrained. Since every stone pattern follows a different course, each dial is unique.
The flat, high-gloss-polished tonneau-shaped stainless steel case is firmly integrated with the stainless steel bracelet. Ribbed transitions at the top and bottom flow seamlessly into the integrated bracelet. This braided bracelet is reminiscent of ears of grain or a herringbone pattern. It drapes softly around the wrist and gives the watch a jewelry-like character. A crown with a blue cabochon provides the finishing touch. Inside, the slim Seiko quartz movement Caliber 2F70 enables this flat construction. This design icon belongs on a wrist that appreciates understated elegance.
The watch is in an honest vintage condition. Brownish signs of aging and occasional spots are visible around the edge of the dial, along the crystal gasket. The case and bracelet show scratches and signs of wear. All these marks are part of its history.
